OBJECTIVE:
Utilizing a digital camera and hot lights, you will shoot a single object in 9 different lighting situations: single light source, reflected light and multiple light source situations. You will be required to take notes on your chosen lighting effects. The downloaded images will then be composed into a lighting proof sheet in In-Design with descriptions of each situation. This proof sheet should be considered a reference for lighting effects when you are utilizing hot lights for future assignments.

Shooting ASSIGNMENT _ digitally capture 9 different lighting situations
You will be required to set up and put away all your lighting, be aware that if you drop anything you bought it – so be careful!! Using a white paper backdrop, place your object in the center of your studio set. Meter the highlight and the shadow of the object as well as the backdrop for each situation you create.
Be sure to log your shots as you go and clearly describe the positions of your lights in relation to the camera. Download your images to the computer into a file with your name on it. |
MINIMUM – 9 lighting situations (5 required & 4 choice)
Include the following Lighting Situations and take notes...
o Single light source o Single light source with reflected light o Reflected light only o 2 light set up o 3 light set up o The last 4 are your choice – use your eyes first - watch your shadows and be creative.
